Is Plexus Safe? A Careful Look at Plexus Product Ingredients

Is Plexus safe, or are there dangers you need to watch out for? Here's a look at what's inside Plexus products.

is plexus safe

Plexus Slim, often referred to as "the Pink Drink," is a weight-loss supplement that's been around since 2008. Regardless of how effective it may be, the more important is this: Is Plexus safe? Our report examines the available ingredient information.

© Margaret Ross |

A number of people who have seen advertisements and anecdotal reports for Plexus Slim, a weight-loss supplement, have been smartly asking, “Is Plexus safe?” and “Are there Plexus dangers I should understand?”

To answer these questions, we consider the broader question “What is Plexus?” by looking at known information about Plexus Slim ingredients and their amounts along with Plexus Slim side effects.

We also cite Plexus reviews and address the question of whether there are any known dangers associated with Plexus products.

What Kind of Testing and Research Has Plexus Had?

When evaluating the safety of a Plexus diet supplement, it’s important to know whether the supplement itself has undergone any testing and, if so, what kind(s). Ideally, for evaluating safety, it would be best to see that Plexus itself has not only undergone testing in humans, but that the testing was done in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in which both safety and efficacy were evaluated and the results were published in a peer-reviewed medical journal.

While this level of research certainly exists for many supplements and natural ingredients, it does not exist for Plexus Slim. The company, Plexus Worldwide, claims on its website that “Its effectiveness has been clinically proven.” However, the company does not reference this claim and does not provide any additional information on its website to support it.

A search of all of the general databases for published medical research, including PubMed and Google Scholar, does not turn up any citations for studies on Plexus Slim or on any product containing its proprietary blend of ingredients.

Is Plexus Safe? Important Questions and Considerations

Since no published, human clinical studies evaluating the safety and efficacy of Plexus Slim seem to have been conducted, there are some additional important questions that must be asked when evaluating its safety.

First, are the ingredients in Plexus products safe to consume at the recommended dosage level based on human studies? In other words, has each individual ingredient in Plexus been tested in human studies for safety?

Second, if no human studies on the individual ingredients have been done, have there been any animal or laboratory toxicity studies done on Plexus Slim’s individual ingredients?

And third, does Plexus contain what it says it does and nothing more/nothing less? In other words, Plexus could be unsafe if what is listed on the label does not reflect what is actually in the product because of contamination or adulteration.

What is Plexus?

So what is Plexus? Plexus weight loss supplements are manufactured by the network marketing company Plexus Worldwide Inc., sometimes known as the Plexus pink drink. According to Plexus Worldwide’s website (accessed on Aug. 13, 2015, Aug. 26, 2016, Jan. 11, 2017, April 24, 2017, and Nov. 9, 2017), each serving (1 “Slim Pack”) of Plexus Slim ingredients contain the following:

  • 200 mcg chromium (as chromium polynicotinate)
  • 1,000 mg of xylooligosaccharides
  • 531 mg of a proprietary blend of:
    • Green coffee bean extract (containing an unknown, unlisted amount of chlorogenic acid and less than 2 percent natural caffeine)
    • Garcinia cambogia fruit extract
    • Alpha lipoic acid
  • Other ingredients: polydextrose, citric acid, natural flavors, beet extract (for color), stevia leaf (Stevia Rebaudiana) extract, luo-han-guo fruit extract, guar gum, silicon dioxide

Are These Plexus Slim Ingredients Safe?

While Plexus Worldwide provides a copy of Plexus Slim’s label on its website that lists the product’s ingredients, it does not provide the amounts of all of the individual ingredients because some of them are part of a proprietary blend. So although Plexus discloses the total amount of all the ingredients within the proprietary blend (530 mg per serving), it does not disclose the individual amounts of each ingredient, which makes it difficult to determine any Plexus dangers.
Without knowing how much of each ingredient is contained in each serving, it is difficult to comprehensively evaluate Plexus Slim’s individual ingredients for safety. Nevertheless, it is still useful to review the scientific literature for whatever safety information is available.

Is Plexus Safe Based on the Green Coffee Extract it Contains?

Plexus Worlwide claims that a derivative of chlorogenic acid from green coffee extract is Plexus Slim’s primary active ingredient.

In 2011, researchers from the University of Exeter in the UK published a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials examining the efficacy of green coffee extract supplements for weight loss.[1] According to the study authors, all of the trials conducted up to that point had been of very short duration, making it difficult to assess the safety of green coffee extract for medium to long term. “Although none of the randomized controlled trials identified reported any adverse events, this does not indicate that green coffee extract intake is ‘risk-free’… the safety of this weight loss aid is not established,” they concluded.

Since then, another small, controlled clinical trial was conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a green coffee bean extract in overweight subjects using higher daily dosages than previous studies (700 to 1050 mg vs. 180 to 400 mg).[2] As with previous studies, there were no side effects or adverse effects based on measurements of heart rate and blood pressure.

In these human studies, green coffee extract used for short periods of time (less than 16 weeks) appears to be safe. However, the studies did not look comprehensively at the subjects’ blood and urine for signs of adverse effects such as kidney or liver damage or elevated biomarkers for cardiovascular disease.

An earlier study found that a daily dose of 2,000 mg chlorogenic acid caused significant increases in subjects’ homocysteine levels.[3] Elevated homocysteine levels increase the risk of heart disease. While we don’t know exactly how much chlorogenic acid is in Plexus pink drink because the company chooses not to disclose that information, we do know—given that the proprietary blend contains 530 mg—that it cannot contain more than 2 grams of chlorogenic acid. However, it is possible that even lower levels of chlorogenic acid could have negative effects on homocysteine levels and thus potentially raise the risk of heart disease in some individuals.

Is Plexus Safe Based on Studies for Contamination and Adulteration?

Adulteration of weight loss supplements with pharmaceuticals and other banned and dangerous ingredients is, unfortunately, rampant. The FDA keeps a growing tally of weight loss products contaminated with undeclared drugs and/or chemical ingredients. The FDA’s laboratory tests have revealed the presence, for example, of sibutramine and phenolphthalein in a number of tainted weight loss products being sold over the counter. Phenolphthalein is laxative drug banned by the FDA in 1999 for potential cancer risks. Sibutramine is a controlled substance and the active pharmaceutical ingredient in Meridia, an approved prescription drug to treat obesity.

Some of the tainted products tested by the FDA recommend taking more than three times the recommended daily dosage of sibutramine, putting consumers at risk of serious adverse effects such as increased blood pressure, tachycardia, palpitations, and seizure. Plexus Slim has not been identified on the FDA’s list, but the FDA’s tally contains only a tiny fraction of products on the market. Can the company prove with independent lab testing that Plexus pink drink does not contain these adulterants or others?

Finding Safe, Effective Supplements for Weight Loss

Ideally, individuals interested in Plexus products for weight loss should work with a practitioner trained in nutritional and botanical medicine who stays up-to-date with the scientific literature and has experience and knowledge with choosing and prescribing only the highest quality supplements.

Supplement companies who take quality assurance and manufacturing practices very seriously will test all raw materials and finished products for purity and potency using scientifically valid test methods, and their supplements will be manufactured in FDA-inspected facilities and/or in facilities that exceed the FDA’s good manufacturing practices. They will also disclose the amounts of each ingredient or the total amount of a propriety blend.

On its website, Plexus Worldwide provides very little information about its quality assurance protocols or manufacturing practices, leaving questions like ‘is Plexus safe?’ not fully answered while creating skepticism about whether or not Plexus Slim is tainted or contaminated. Because of these issues, it’s not easy to conclude definitively whether Plexus Slim is safe or not. Supplements can be incredibly effective tools for health and wellness, but it is best not to guess or take chances on supplements from companies that don’t disclose even basic information about ingredient sources, their amounts, quality control, and manufacturing practices. So before consuming, consult your doctor before taking any Plexus supplements to discuss any side effects.

  • First of all this article is completely out dated. Second all ingredients are listed on your bottles when you receive them. All you is have to ask for them. Plexus has a disclaimer that’s states these products don’t claim to help, heal or cure medical issues. Third all promotionals are done thru REAL people brave enough to share a testimony. As for products containing unsafe chemicals that’s absurd. Released this year was an omega blend it last 3 days before the CMO and CEO pulled it because of a question they couldn’t resolve.

  • I’ve been using Plexus products for over a year now and have never felt healthier. I’ve lost 25 pounds, no longer have chronic headaches, fatigue, achy joints, or depression. My mom now uses the products and no longer needs to take cholesterol meds and her blood pressure meds were cut in half. My sister is also on the products and is getting relief from her Lupus symptoms. There is definitely something different about these supplements. I had been taking supplements for years with no effect on how I felt. I have my health and life back again.

  • Thank you a bunch for sharing this with all folks you really understand what you’re talking about!
Bookmarked. Please additionally discuss with my website =).

We can have a link trade contract among us

  • My sister has introduced me to Plexus Slim and I can honestly say that I can tell a big difference in the way I feel. I tried a sample of the product for a week, my bouts with depression have subsided, my cravings for sodas has been reduced from 4 to 5 a day or more have decreased to 1/. I do not have big cravings for food like I use to. I went to a restaurant, placed an order, I ate a few bites of my food, asked for a tray to put it in I did not want it. I ate it when I got hungry. I am also on the biocleanse and the probiotic 5 along with 1 pack of the Slim each day and I still feel great, no side effects. I am also taking several medications, it has not interacted at all with my medications. I finally found something that I can take for weight loss and still feel good and it is all natural. I am now a Plexus Ambassador. it has helped my sister with her fibromyalgia, it has also helped her husband with his diabetes, his blood sugar levels are down to normal range. He has come off of his diabetes medication. Plexus has worked wonders for me and it will work wonders for you if you would give it a chance. It takes time for a product to work. It is not a quick fix. To make it work, you have to consistent and take it every day and take it like it should be taken. I take 1 pack of Slim at breakfast 30 minutes before I start my meal, then two hours later I take a Bio Cleanse tablet and at bedtime I take a Probio5 pill at night. I have been sleeping better at night. If you want you can check with your doctor. It has been working for me, my sister and brother in law.

  • I’m grateful for the information in this article. Particularly, the possibility of the effect in homocysteine levels! This was an unexpected bit of info that is of extreme importance for one with already elevated levels. Thank you.

  • I love Plexus, I know longer take my arthritis med because It no longer bothers me. My husband also takes Plexus because of me, and has dealt with psoriatic arthritis since 2004 and tried he took Emeral shot that about killed him. He was in the hospital for 3weeks thank the Lord he survived, But anyway since he’s been on Plexus he has had no pain with that arthritis. We started Plexus in April and I lose 20lbs in 1 month and my husband lose 10 we’ve never felt better he went to his Oncologist last week for his routine follow up cause he has high blood pressure and high Cholesterol, thyroid problem diverticulitis and was having gout flare ups every 2 weeks. So last week was his regular 3 month visit at his Oncologist well his blood work was all good except told him to start eating more salads and to stop eating a lot of red meat. My husband show him all the Plexus he has been taken for 3 months and the doctor said Plexus is a good product and it was fine to continue using it cause it was really good for his Diverticulitis and other gut issues. Look people of America the FDA cares about CASH not lives. If there not getting anything money out of Plexus there going to try and convince people that it’s not good for them. Look all I ever heard that Plexus is great and it has help thousand of people with all kinds of health problems. Us your own judgment not the FDA’s no one is forced to take Plexus.

  • All the remarks above supporting Plexus are ambassadors supporting their Pyramid. I am an MD and Plexus IS NOT SAFE. I have treated several patients and many preemies as a result of Plexus. Anyone selling this product should be prosecuted.

  • Christy m I think your full of it! I’m sure you’re not a doctor, and I’m sure you have never had to treat anyone including preemies as a result of Plexus.

  • Christy M you should be prosecuted for injecting children with known neurotoxins, aborted fetal tissue, animal dna, aluminum, formaldehyde, and mercury…just to name a few. Have youbreaf a vaccine insert? You prescribe medocations everu day thst have known side effects. Prescriptions are pulled all the time for excessive damages. Sorry plexus doesnt line your picket and is taking away your pateints. I dont believe anything you say your PHARMEd sheep.

  • Would you mind elaborating, Christi M.? How is it unsafe? What are your experiences with it and what have you observed?

  • Very outdated material!! There are now clinical trials on the Slim and several of the Plexus products! With proven weight loss and health benefits. I’m very thankful for the products…it’s saved my mom and her diabetes & neuropathy! And as for the earlier comments — how does the slim effect premies?? #youronypurownlevelofcraycray

  • Hiya, I am really glad I have found this information. Nowadays bloggers publish just about gossips and web and this is really annoying. A good blog with interesting content, that is what I need. Thanks for keeping this website, I’ll be visiting it. Do you do newsletters? Can not find it. aegdeaeafacf

  • Plexus is accused of knowingly selling products with unsafe levels of lead. I had considered trying it, but my trust is forever broken with that bright red stop light. Add that to the FDA warning, and the mysterious numerous unnamed doctors and untraceable clinical trials and research, the rather odd cult like behavior of the re-sellers and it just keeps building a poorer picture of this company. The long long long list of dis satisfied customers will not include me. Thank you for this article, it has helped considerably.

  • @Plexusproud- I have dug a bit, but cannot find the clinical trials for Slim or any Plexus product. Can you please share where they can be found? Thanks

  • Christy M. Could we by chance get your full name? Christy M…..? MD. I’d love to look into your practices. Are you an obgyn? Do you induce babies to fit your schedule? Do you allow your patients to choose their delivery dates? Since you know so much and us simpletons know so little I’d love to hear more about your views on Plexus. I myself have been taking Plexus products for over 2 years and am no longer an ambassador. I’d truly like to know as of this date, if I am putting myself at risk. Sincerely Danica

  • I should also mention the products have been approved by my obgyn, primary care physician, my nurse practitioner and even my chiropractor. Just to name a few.

  • I have been taking Plexus for 4 months. I’ve regained health backk. I know people that were able to go off of multiple medications, my friend lost 8 lbs in a week. It’s a lot more than a weightloss supplement. It was originally designed for diabetics. There has been clinical trials of the Slim and Triplex. The results were emailed to Ambassadors and I have those emails. The weightloss compared to the placebo test were at least doubled in weightloss. There was multiple clinical trials. I hate when people don’t try Plexus and then do a review about it,telling how it is. Plexus has given thousands of people’s lives back but then there’s sites like this that says bad stuff but never tried it. It’s like if I were a food critique and rated a restuarant that I never tried. Don’t lie to your readers and give them false hope about something that can help give them their health back. Everyone who’s reading this, Plexus works. Believe a user, not this blog that hasn’t touched the products.

  • With all the outdated reviews on companies such as Plexus, where so-called “experts” are making false statements, I’m thinking it’s time to start a website that reviews the reviewers. UHN is not the only site that puts out this defaming information. I’m thinking Plexus should start looking into these false attacks. There mus be some law against making such insinuations, including by our mysterious doctor above, because they harm the company’s reputation. The date on this is 8/29/16. FYI: Plexus just released a clinical study NOT done by them, but rather a “multi-center, double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized trial, done by an independent Contract Research Organization in accordance with the International Conference Harmonization Guidelines on Good Clinical Practice.” About 40% of the people around the world who take Plexus supplements are NOT ambassadors. 94% approval rating of the products. Wonderful compensation and easy business to run (MLM, NOT pyramid…which are illegal), which is why there are so many ambassadors. Company execs are ethical and care about the human population, which is why they developed these products in the first place. Staffed by MD’s and scientists, wonderful CS and terrific ambassadors. Company has grown to almost a billion dollar company in 7 years due to the effectiveness of the products. Do you really think a company could grow at that rate if the products didn’t work or were “harmful”? You should see the number of testimonies that come back from people who have improved labs, where they doctor says, “Keep on doing what you’re doing.” Many health practitioners, upon seeing the good results, are starting to take it themselves. Nothing is perfect, but I’d rather go the route of getting my body healthy inside rather than having to take prescription drugs for something I may have been able to avert through proper eating, supplementation and exercise. And BTW: it is NOT a weight loss company; it is a wellness company. If your organization would bother to actually research before making these false reviews, you might learn a thing or two.

  • This product and all weight loss products are a joke! If you want to loose weight in a healthy way. Try actually eating healthy! Stop looking for products to do the job for you! Arthritis? Really? I mean this is a weight loss supplement and everyone is saying it helps with so many things. Sounds to me like plexus has an array of hypochondriacs taking this. Non steroid meats organic fruits and veggies balanced out properly would settle most of your issues along with discipline! Nothing and I mean nothing is ever good when coming out of an un known packet of wonderland! Again, you have blood sugar issues, thiroid issues, stomach issues and even arthritis GOOD FOODS people solve those problems and so does a little exercise!

  • Clinical trials have been done and were released this year. You can look them up and see them posted on the numerous facebook Plexus groups. As I recall, the purpose of folic acid is t break down homocysteine and it can be found in the multivitamim sold by Plexus. It works,so why argue this fact based on all the positive responses here. You should try it and see…. I’m sure Slim could be tested for impurities and you know it…… Did you test it????????????????????????????????

  • I personally know three people who ended up in the hospital requiring treatment because of adverse reactions to plexus. I do not take anything that has not been tested in a clinical setting. Don’t get sucked in people.

  • I am a diabetic (that’s what they say ) I took plexus for 2 months my blood sugar went down tremendously my A1c is under 6 with 6 been normal I honestly don’t know if it’s bad for your health or not I just know it helped my sugar I stopped using it because I honestly can’t afford it I never believe reviews because I know companies pay people to lie for them but I would never do that let me state my sugar is great now as well and I am using metformin

  • At the date of this blog posting, the study findings had only been released for a couple weeks to Plexus corporate persons and top level ambassadors. If you are familiar enough with research to know anything, you might know that the study had not likely been released in print yet so you won’t find it yet on pub med or any other research site yet. As for persons sent to the hospital because of reactions to Plexus products, this is possible with ANY supplement, medication, food, or allergan the human body comes into contact with as allergies are possible to everything ! As for Christy M, she is likely a bogus from a competiter because Plexus would have been under high investigation and removed from the market or bankrupt from lawsuits if what she has said was true!! Now let me tell you what I think. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner, with three degrees, ADN, BSN, MSN and Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. I was a registered nurse for 16 years and have been a nurse practitioner for 10. I have been using plexus myself for 7 months because of health problems that all the pharmaceutical medications were not helping. After using the Slim drink alone, I felt better in one week. After using the Slim, BioCleanse, and ProBio5 for a month, I felt like I had a new lease on life. I have recommended these products to many friends and families. Yes I am a wholesale ambassador so that I can get the best price on the products for myself because I have GIVEN these products to family , friends, and former patients who I have thought would benefit. Guess what? Every single one of them felt better in some way or another!! The scientific reason behind the ” miracle” of plexus products is simple. If any of you cared to study why it might actually work, you would figure it out !! It is called gut health and insulin stabilization. Plexus products help to heal the unhealthy gut and they help maintain stable insulin levels. If you google gut bacteria , you will see tons of research, done by reseach faculty at many renowned Universities accross the world, which has connected gut bacteria as being the cause or suspected to be the cause of many diseases. These include Parkinson’s disease, Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Obesity, Diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, and Alzheimers just to name a few. Additional health problems result from ouroverweight society which is why insulin level stabilization helps so many people. Wise up people!! Just because you have not been affected by some of these awful conditions, do not have pain or fatigue, or other problems, does not mean that they are not real health problems for others. Plexus offers health and wellness products for a wide array of issues besides weight loss. I personally trust my friends and families when they tell me to watch a certain movie, try a certain resteraunt, shop at a certain store, etc.. So I trusted them when they told me to try Plexus!! Why would you not trust someone you know and respect who recommends a product verses a total stranger, who is paid to get on tv to tell you they take a product or wear these shoes ? MLM is not a pyramid, it is simply advertisement by the persons who use and promote rather than millions paid to advertising firms. Just because a health problem has not affected you does not mean supplements are not needed by others !!

  • It appears that adequate research has not been conducted on Plexus….the Ambassadors should be sued for selling the products if their clients have medical issues…unfortunately the mighty dollar pyramid which feeds off of friendships…is more important than the harm they may be distributing to their own children and friends…doctors have prescribed alot of products thatcwere later pulled off rhe market due to deaths, heart attacks, liver failure, kidney failure, or birth defects that could be passed down generations…examples…benedictin, xarelto, factive, minocin, etc..lots of pain meds, and even something as simple as taking too much aspirin can cause problems…WAKE UP PEOPLE!! when the ambassadors get sued for making someone sick…the money wont be so alluring…how will theyvfeel then? Do they have dr degrees, or medical credentials…well all the drug companies have more researchers…and they are still being sued every day! Is the money worth hurting your flock???

  • I am here to tell my personal experience. I am sharing my story in hopes to help others out there. I began having pain issues since I was 12. So many misdiagnosis, one was being told I had cancer then being told I didn’t. I had surgeries that were not needed. Age 18, they removed my appendix because they thought that would help my pain, it didn’t. Then age 25 they said if I had a total hysterectomy that would take away my pain, it didn’t. I have tried every prescription medication out there just hoping it would help me. I had seen every doctor in all different departments just hoping for something to get my pain down enough so I could function. My biggest problem is severe fibromyalgia. It runs in the family. Not sure why I never got breaks from pain like other members of my family did, but I kept fighting trying to get better. I have 2 kids and couldn’t do anything with them. I would be stuck in bed or on the couch. I was on meds but they didn’t seem to make a difference. My family, friends, and I were all looking for new things for me to try. I have tried so many products out there that my family paid out of pocket for and everything failed! My pain was so bad that I needed a chair so I could take a shower, help with walking, struggled to climb stairs. I’m 36, I hated everyone seeing me like that and feeling helpless. I don’t like being the center of attention. Doctors were just suggesting to me that I should get a mobility scooter and handicap parking so I could go out more. I am here to tell you that in my personal experience, I bought the Tri-Plex Combo. I did not think this would work. Everything else failed, why would this help? I needed to rule it out just so I didn’t keep wondering “what if”. Did we have the money….no, but we made it work. Within 4 days, I was feeling better. I can also tell you that I ran out of the Pro Bio5 which was my fault for not paying attention but my pain started coming back. I thought the ProBio5 was keeping my pain away. Later, I ran out of the Slim. I believe in these products so much, I was sharing my Slim but didn’t pay attention to what I had left. My fibro pain came back again. My hands were hurting, couldn’t sleep, I was tired, my anxiety was coming back. What did I learn from this? It is NOT just the Slim, or the ProBio5 or the BioCleanse keeping the fibromyalgia away. They work as a TEAM. Had I only purchased just one item by itself, its safe to say that I never would’ve stayed on these products because it wouldn’t have worked for me. The Tri-Plex Combo is helping me.

I’m able to be a mom again. I can play with my kids, I’m smiling all the time, I sleep all night and feel refreshed in the morning, I can concentrate, I don’t have post it notes all over my desk because I can remember things, I’m no longer crying everyday because I felt alone, helpless and useless, I even lost weight and inches. I take measurements every week so I can share my experience with others. I am obese and doctors always wanted me to lose weight. When you can’t move, its almost impossible to do. I did try and my doctors even tried medication but they didn’t work for me.

I’m sure Plexus isn’t for everyone but for someone like me, it has given me a second chance at life. When my son tells me he thinks I’m going to die because he sees me struggle and he felt doctors couldn’t help me, I fought. I never gave up hope or looking for something. Honestly, I never expected this to work for me at all, but it did. I never want to go back to being in that much pain and struggling to do even the little things people take for granted.

I put chemicals into my body for how many years and had so many side effects. One medication even caused me to have suicidal thoughts which was so scary, another I would become frozen in so much pain I couldn’t even call out for help, I’m the one that figured out it was the medication. I would rather take these products because they are safer and they work. Plexus is doing things for me that no medication, shots, or doctors could fix. Everyone has opinions but I have searched for over 20+ years for what Plexus has done for me. Its so much more then just products for weight loss. My diagnoses are severe fibromyalgia, costochondritis, migraines, ADHD, anxiety, depression, obesity, intestinal issues, fatigue, PTSD. These are what Plexus helps me with. Again, this is my story, my experience and I wanted to share.

  • Plexus has been a life send for me… I did not start the products to loose weight, it was purely a health standpoint. My sister in law introduced me after she had read other people with fibromyalgia were having pain relief. Since starting in march of this year I have not had a major flare up. I havent called on sick to work, came off six medications, daily headaches removed, depression and anxiety (i got sick every morning) relieved. Thats just a few things. I actually have my life back. Its not all about weight loss

  • Methinks Plexus works via the placebo effect. The only proven way to lose weight is by a caloric deficit via eating less or exercising more.

  • I started Plexis slim. Every time I take it causes me to have diarrhea. Is this normal? Should I continue or stop. When I stop I don’t have the problem.

  • Ingredients: Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA). STOP right there. That alone is the number 1 reason to STOP taking the Pink Drink. ALA chelates mercury. Chelating means it picks up and moves mercury in your body. ALA crosses the blood brain barrier, taking mercury with it. ALA has a half life!!!!! If you are using too much ALA (and the Slim pack doesn’t even tell you how much is in there), or if you don’t take it on a CONSISTENT schedule – ever 3to 4 hours for at LEAST 3 days… it can and will leave mercury in your brain that it found elsewhere in your body. Mercury is one of the the most toxic elements known to man. It is a neurotoxin. Every wonder why so many people have neurological diseases like MS, Autism, or immune diseases (too many to mention) ?? Maybe it’s Mercury. It is in some vaccines (thimerosal), it is in amalgams (silver dental fillings) which is why they are being banned in Europe, it is in auto exhaust, it is in seafood such as tuna, it is found in many, many places. We all have mercury in us. So, ALA can harm you if you do not use it properly, and it should not be taken randomly; once, twice, whatever times a day at irregular intervals. Do yourself a favor and STOP taking ALA until you understand the safe protocol to use it. Have your metal fillings removed by a biological dentist. Look up: Maybe it’s mercury, and also AI (Amalgam Illness). Many people who use ALA report health benefits, but the LONG term consequences are very unsettling to consider. Just because some products make people fell healthier does not mean that they are OK. People eat a drink and smoke a lot of stuff that makes them feel great! But some have immediate bad consequences, some take years to manifest. Beware. Be smart. Be informed.

  • Jennifer november1, 2016…how do you have a total hystorectomy and then get pregnant? I would say you lost all credibility right there! I was thinking of taking this as I have diabetes, artheritis, and psorisis but after reading these statements I have decided not to.

  • I took Plexus in 2013 loved it, lost 14 pounds. I though it was wonderful but stopped taking it after I got where I wanted to be. Now I am having major issues, heart issues. I know supplements that are not regulated by FDA should not be used for hard work but I fell for it and now I wonder if I just ruined my way of living. Lots more testing and not sure if Plexus is the reason but it does make we wonder….

  • Wanda…..she never told you she got pregnant after the hysterectomy. She obviously had her 2 children BEFORE that surgery DUUUHHHH

  • Gee, it’s no surprise that the pro-Plexus crowd would immediately jump all over this and claim that their lives are amazing now because of this miracle product. Sales pitch much? Are women really this gullible? Notice how guys rarely post this kind of stuff? Home “business” marketing at its finest, along with a placebo effect. Same with that “Thrive” junk and “It Works.” A lot of the ingredients are pretty much the same thing as that MiO stuff you squirt into a water bottle to make it tasty.

Basically, Plexus Slim = tap water with MiO, and drink some tea later. Way cheaper too. Plexus/etc are just pyramid schemes and placebos. You’re losing weight because you’re drinking more water and eating less McDonalds. Simple as that. God people are gullible.

  • For janey. I don’t find any of the people in Plexus gullible- even if they are staying at home as moms they research all the time – of course, not all are keen readers, but the ones that are — this company has sparked their scientific side of their brain — it’s sort of called ethics. If you want to promote something, you want to know as much as you can about why things were put in it — and what can’t be mentioned is to keep the product proprietary, though the ingredients are mentioned, just not the literal amounts. Re gullible — that’s not my experience either, reps and even customers want to understand how in hell’s bells does this stuff work so well for most people, and why maybe not as well for a few — I am one of the few. I don’t think it should be called SLIM as it doesn’t always work for weight loss (or healthy weight gain for those with unhealthy weights). Balance would be a far better name for the product. I am not eating less, but craving less bad things esp. pop. I can tell you right away I started “wanting” water (because my body was cueing me) — drink more water — so that’s a win-win — but it should have been pure water not tap water with additives that disrupt the thyroid hormone for one. Love the SLIM because of the hormone stabilization that my daughters are seeing — one day, one month at a time, it gets better and better – and for the one daughter her hubby needs none of the antidepressant support (he would get mildly morose and to himself — less social) – gone with SLIM and the men esp. seem to be energized (steady energy) all work day. For me the sugar balancing affect is noticeable, and again not any weight loss. I sleep like a rock and I was a good sleeper before — but I notice way more dreaming and lighter sleeping though I thought that was good sleeping — nope, SLIM has shown that. The bottom line, I am not losing weight because of something undetermined in me. So I had a full thryoid panel done and that includes the TPO and TGa antibodies. That doesn’t seem to be it. I am still working on it, changing to a paleo thyroid support diet (using a provided meal plan from another vendor), and will watch if that plus SLIM makes the difference. We are all so unique, but SLIM has peeled the pounds off many so it’s not the product. Of my daughters I mentioned, one doesn’t really need to change weight and the other is post-pregnancy weight, and it is coming down slowly. But again the value of lack of cravings and loss of cravings for coffee to keep the one going comes from SLIM and is worth the slow weight loss. Neither of the 3 of us respond well to a stimulant type product to lose weight either — again, it is something unique to all of our family (that have tried SLIM so far) and not the product. I mean in a 21-day trial with SLIM a gal who posted both pictures in our private group lost something like 20 pounds and I didn’t consider her that heavy in the beginning. So it works — just look to tweak other things about yourself, eat to blood type, eat more cooked, hot veggies, keep tweaking — it will come.

  • the effects of drugs addiction or addiction of any such are never husband was an addict for 10 years. this got him rehabilitated twice and sometimes in trouble.i almost gave up on him until he got prayed for by diviner peterson, who helped in getting him free from addiction.i got to contact him after i saw a testimony of a lady on a blog who also faced similar issue with her son until he got prayed for. now my husband is free from addiction and is being the best husband and father to our kids and i i’d urge anyone on this blog facing similar or any problem to also contact him via

  • If you want to lose weight, eat healthy and exercise. If you need a supplement try Unicity products they have more than 16 products on the PDR (Physicians Desk Reference) book. I use the products myself and I’m fascinated!

  • I developed hogh blood pressure and a few other issues a few months into taking the slim. After reading this article it makes more sense why that happened. After stopping a few weeks later my high blood pressure went away. Do not try this product over a long period of time.

  • Drink some coffee and take a chromium supplement. Save your money. Why do “fad diets” always disappear? Because they are driven by hype and hope. There is no shortcut or magic pill for healthy living. … Dont believe the hype.

  • This comment is for the bald eagle. Alpha-lipoic acid is not the same as alpha linolenic acid, which is an omega-3 fatty acid that may help heart health. Alpha-linolenic acid is a kind of omega-3 fatty acid found in plants. It is found in flaxseed oil, and in canola, soy, perilla, and walnut oils.

Alpha-linolenic acid is similar to the omega-3 fatty acids that are in fish oil, called eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Your body can change alpha-linolenic acid into EPA and DHA. However, some researchers suggest that less than 1% of ALA is converted to physiologically effective levels of EPA and DHA.

Omega-3 fatty acids — especially EPA and DHA — have been shown to reduce inflammation and may help prevent chronic diseases, such as heart disease and arthritis. They may also be important for brain health and development, as well as normal growth and development.

There is good evidence that fish oil containing EPA and DHA may help treat heart disease, prevent heart attack and stroke, and slightly reduce high blood pressure. Some researchers think the same may be true for alpha-linolenic acid. There is evidence that this may be so, but the evidence is not as strong as it is for fish oil.

Note: Alpha-linolenic acid is not the same as alpha-lipoic acid, an antioxidant that helps the body turn glucose into energy. This can be confusing because both alpha-linolenic acid and alpha-lipoic acid are both sometimes abbreviated as ALA.

I am just showing that these can be confused with one another. I have been on Plexus products for 3 months and I promise you it is very real and has growth potential as any fortune 500 company where they were posted in the top 5. I was very skeptical and sat on the information for several weeks as I watched you tube videos and searched for good and bad reviews. I find it interesting that most individuals that have posted bad reviews had no medical information to back up what was medically found while undergoing surgery or a trip to the ER. These products are amazing and have FOREVER CHANGED MY LIFE. I have spent a lot of money on GNC vitamins, Nutralite and many others more expensive than Xfactor by Plexus which is cheaper than the ones listed and by far a better vitamin.

  • I take the plexus pro-bio 5. Its an amazing probiotic!!! I went for almost a year and could barely eat anything without vomiting it up. I saw three gastro doctors, family doctor and had 3 hyda scans, multiple colon and endoscopy test with no answers. I had spent hundreds of dollars on probiotics and nothing helped. My friend gave me some plexus pro-bio 5 and after 3 1/2 weeks I could eat. My doctors were amazed and I am a firm believer in it. Their products are not just for weight loss. I have helped many of my friends that have stomach troubles with them taking this. I do not sell plexus or use any of their other products but I will take their probiotics as long as I live. Its the least expensive one I have bought also, which makes it even better. I can’t tell you about anything else but this works!!! It is also safe to take with my auto immune disease medicines and all my doctors think its great.

  • plexus like all the other MLM companys work just like a religiuos cult, they prey on uneducated house wives to sell there products, that alone should tell you something, they prey on the uneducated and the vunerable to sell there garbage, i personaly talk to lots of people who get sick and toxic from there crap but then again you wont read those reviews , always remember those miracle reviews are alway people who sell the stuff, save your money and your health

  • You know you can trust a website article when you get an immediate pop-up that implies that if you aren’t interesting in signing up for what they are offering, you “Don’t exercise” — LOL

  • So first of all, I in know way can diminish how anyone feels about Plexus. I will simply tell you my story. I have battled Hashimoto’s disease for 10 years. That means I have an under active thyroid. I also have pernicious anemia which means I require B12 supplementation or I quickly become anemic. Both of these are autoimmune conditions. I started Plexus at the urging of a friend who is an RN. All was fine for a month. I didn’t really have more energy but I did enjoy the benefits of Cleanse. Almost immediately I noticed I woke up with swollen fingers. I bought oh I’m just a little dehydrated and kept on moving. A few weeks later, my right hand became extremely swollen. The next day it was my left. I googled and thought I may have carpel tunnel so I went to see an orthopedic surgeaon. He said I was having an extreme immune reaction to something. It went away a few days later. I did not stop Plexus. About a week later, I woke up in the middle of the night with a gigantic tongue. My husband rushed me to the ER and they immediately ushered me back to start treatment. I was given antihistamines, Zyrtec to block Histamine 2 and steroids. Not sure what was going on with me and to prevent intubation, I was given fresh plasma because it contains complement which can help with certain types of hereditary swelling where you are missing part of the component system. A plethora of testing began with an allergist. Tests did not reveal any allergy. I started taking daily 4 Zyrtec tablets, Zantac, Allegra and if needed Benadryl. I stopped taking Plexus and didn’t have another issue after about a month or so. I was symptom free for a while and then continued to have a few random issues. Over Christmas this year, I tried another cleanse program that contained magnesium. I immediately began to swell. I called my allergist immediately and he tried a new medication ($10000 per dose) that did nothing. He tried Xolair next and that worked. So far so good.

I know this was a lengthy post, but here’s my opinion. I’ve since learned about half of Hashimoto’s patients develop swelling or “urticaria/ angioedma”. I have no other medical reason that would cause this. I have been thoroughly tested by mutiple specialists. I’ve reached out to other people who have “chronic idiopathic urticaria” and found that magnesium is a trigger for them. I am convinced it is for me. Why am I telling you this? I’m telling you this because from all the Facebook posts I see, Plexus is marketing to people who feel bad. Many have thyroid disease. Many have an autoimmune disease. Some could have a reaction like I did. I don’t believe it’s safe for those people. There should be a warning. Because what if I didn’t wake up that night? What could have happened? Would I have had this issue without Plexus? Possibly, but I do think the large amount of magnesium pushed me over the edge.

  • For everyone claiming that doctors approve of and support the supplement, please comment with links to that information so it can be proven.

For those claiming true clinical trials have been conducted, please comment with links to those peer reviewed scholarly documents so it can be proven.

  • I have Hashimoto’s and have not experienced any ill side effects from taking the Plexus Triplex combo… I feel so much better actually! But.. if I add in the Plexus Edge it gives me a heavy feeling in my head. So.. my ambassador suggested I use the money back guarantee.. because not all products will work the same for everyone! Just like any product out there. I do know that I have done my research and Plexus seems to be helping a heck of a lot more people than anything. Most supplement companies do not stay on the market this long… Plexus is still around for a reason.. because it works! Because of their success in helping people. I would like to point out that when you take any drug from the pharmacy you do not get a list of what that drug contains.. you do get a list of possible side effects. Anything you ingest can have side effects! Some much worse than others. Ibuprofen can cause stroke and heart attack… Tylenol can cause liver disease.. medicines for gout warn of possible sudden death!! I don’t know about you but I would much rather give Plexus, a natural supplement, a try with so many positive results backed by physicians, nurses, scientists, and real people than take a drug from a company that has recorded actual deaths from their product. So what do the doctor’s always tell us when it comes to taking a drug with lots of side effects? “You need to weigh the pro’s vs. con’s and I think the pro’s outweigh the con’s.” And in the case of Plexus.. the pro’s greatly outweigh the con’s..

  • When my miagrains, IBS, anxietyclear, and my cholesterol levels drop to normal with no meds, and have no side effects in 2 years so far then yes it is safe and I don’t care what articles on the internet say. FDA approval is the least of my worries as what they approve usually way way more dangerous than plexus, and can actually kill us in some cases. Coke and Burger is more dangerous to my health than plexus, so people need to drop this attack on those products cuz they are literally changing lives.

  • cured with herbal medicine

I had fibromyalgia for about 20 years. I fortunately had it diagnosed almost immediately by a wonderful male doctor. It was very debilitating at first. I had to rest after cleaning my bathtub, a very painful process, and I was only in my 50s. The pain did not go away. My doctor prescribed aerobic exercise and Flexeril. That drug made a big difference in the amount of sleep I got. I exercised for 20 minutes every day except Sunday. (That was all my pain tolerance would allow.) Whether those are what kept it a fairly mild case or not I have no idea. Recently I tried herbal medicine from perfect health herbal medicine home and am happy to say I got my life back totally. After about 6 weeks on it I have regained my energy level totally and am now lifting weights. I can sit still without aching all over after half an hour (which makes travel bearable) and can ride bike, my doctor recently confirmed that am fibromyalgia free. I have no side effects from the herbal medicine . I sincerely advice everyone to get their fibromyalgia cure from perfect health herbal medicine home.

  • Sharin: I don’t think anyone is “attacking” the products anymore than people are claiming it helps with almost every disease or condition you have. Fortunately, my anxiety, depression, overweight, and arthritis are all controlled with a good diet, running almost daily, sleeping well, and yoga exercises daily. I think if a lot of people followed these simple practices (I have a full time job and 2 busy teenagers so if I can do it anyone can), they too would feel much better, and lose weight at the same time! I have lost 7 pounds in 1 month living a healthy lifestyle! The thing that bothers me the most about the ambassadors is not the products necessarily, but the FB friends who CONSTANTLY post about their products to the point of obsessiveness! Seriously?! When they post daily, and claim the products help EVERY darn disease out there, then that makes me believe in the products much less! If the ambassadors honestly believes in their products, why do they have to bombard FB daily?!!! Plus they talk like they are a doctor or something. Really? And why can’t they give answers on FB why do they always say PM me…UGH!!!! Sounds very fishy to me. Think about it!

  • I am gonna add to my comment up that I had thyroid cancer 10 years ago and plexus is approved by internal medicine Dr, my OBGYN and my Endocrinologist, my ex husband is a pediatrician and he approved them for my 15 year old and we were able to take her off her depression meds because of those products. Can you imagine what this can do to all the kids in the country if we put them in stuff that their body needs and helped them with their depression? My OBGYN started using them after she saw my results and blood work. The reason they help with so many things across the board not because it’s magic, or there is something fishy about the company, it’s because those products are really targeting the roots of health issues, church is blood sugar levels, inflammation and gut health. Once you balance those three, every thing starts falling into place. Every ingredient in the products has thousand s of research. I don’t blame plexus for not posting the percentages of every thing in the slim, it’s their core product and the percentage is what’s making it so effective. I wouldn’t want any one to steal the formula and come up with a competitive product. Love what those products did to my health and my child health and I will never stop using them.

  • I tried slim for three weeks and my GI system shut down for two of those weeks. I had horrible stomach aches and chose not to continue using it. I’m sure my reaction is not “the norm,” but I couldn’t bear the discomfort anymore.

  • I have had S.I.BO. (Small intestine bacteria overgrowth) . It took me over 20 years to figure it out. Several of the ingredients listed in Plexus Slim would cause me to get quite ill. I have been working with a Naturopath and regular Dictor for years to figure out my gut problems and just finished a P.E.D. Diet. Unfortunately gut healing is a complex process & EVERYONE is different. Do your research folks and ask, ask, ask questions until you get real answers from several sources. A good reliable company and doctor would encourage you to do so.

  • When you have to shove the product down the throats of ppl who could care less, there is an issue. They are just selling stuff. I use NAP products. They are customized to my individual needs and I feel no pressure to buy into products that everyone else uses. Every time I get on FB it’s like the world has taken the pink drink and are regurgitating it up in my face. They are taking you for a ride. Those who love it. Sell it. Hmmmm.

  • BG77 – I took ONE packet of the Plexus Slim 3 days ago and have had diarrhea and severe stomach cramps since. If one packet can do this to me, I cannot imagine how much worse it would be to take the TriPlex. 🙁

  • I’m not sure if the products work or not – not enough info available. I have several Facebook friends who are Plexus Ambassadors and their marketing approach is to make never ending FB posts of Plexus and how it helps with everything from cancer, gut health, smoking cessation, sexual issues, weight loss, and everything in-between. Then all the other Ambassadors “like” the post and / or make comments like “game changer”, amazing products, “Oh, Plexus helps with that?”, etc. In my view, they are making claims that they cannot back up and the ongoing never ending Facebook posts are annoying. Thus, I finally “unfollowed” these couple of friends as I do not want to hurt their feelings by simply “Unfriending” them but I am weary of the marketing approach they seem to use. The products may be great, but with what I feel is a very annoying marketing approach and the little games the Ambassadors play with Facebook posts, I would not want these products if they were free. The bottom line with this company is that the Ambassadors have to keep their downline excited about buying (and selling) grossly overpriced products.

  • I am a Registered Nurse- was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia back in 2015- I started using this product March of 2017 and have not had adverse effects as of today-I refused to take all the FDA approved prescription medications because of their horrible side effects and long term potential damages; I made that choice as an educated individual; all I can say is that I had not felt this well since 2015. Most of my health issues/problems go back to 2012 but it wasnt till 2015 that the official diagnosis was given. I gained alot of weight during that time I am only 5’2 and weighed 150 at my heaviest- I looked like I had a beer belly or cerrhotic liver (even though I don’t drink) but was able to get down to 134 lbs and now have been able to get on the stationary bike, eat more healthy but had it not been becuase of the Plexus products I would not be feeling this well. This is my own story and each of us have to make a decision. I chose the Plexus product over FDA approved medications and I couldn’t be happier with that decision. I work with so many other professionals and they have seen my health changed for the best after I started this product.

  • 2 questions to apply to this product (and any other supplements) – first, have any of their products been submitted to a 3rd Party quality control test to verify content & purity? The answer is a resounding “no” with Plexus products. Second, has the company disclosed where they source all ingredients for their products. Again, a resounding “no” with all Plexus products. It is a reality that unregulated supplements contain questionable ingredients and often times harmful ingredients. These people who shovel this garbage down their own throats and their children’s will undoubtedly suffer issues down the line. Our bodies are not equipped to handle increased levels of various substances without some sort of repercussion. Ambassadors and all of their underlines will trumpet how great they feel now but will go silent when they develop liver issues, heart issues, and the like down the road. As long as they feel they can soak others for a chance to go to Hawaii, these people will simply parrot what the company tells them at product meetings. At no time have any of the claims that Plexus makes, nor the multitudes of false testimonials by ambassadors violating their agreements, been proven by clinical trials or published peer-reviewed studies. The fools who believe such claims are easily swayed by before/after photos and the promise to live big like the Double-Diamond charlatan in McKinney.

  • It’s a scam!!! It’s “ambassadors” use their friends and FB to sell a product that has not been tested and is possibly dangerous. It has had no published scientific independent testing! Your health is too important to risk taking a product that has not been tested. Please do not ingest these chemicals when you can safely lose weight with a healthy diet, exercise, eliminate sugar and lower your calorie intake. I would not be surprised if the company and the “diamond” ambassadors are sued for promoting and making false claims about a product that is dangerous to the public health.

  • I have tried several products of Plexus and have not had good experiences despite using as directed and drinking lots of water. Edge gave me rapid heartbeat, ProBiotic5 gave me diarrhea, and the new Slim made me feel my blood sugar was dangerously low. I’m sure others out there have not experienced the same, everyone’s experience can be different. I am though sure of one thing, it created more issues then helped and I will not be using the Plexus products again.

  • The medical community is in direct competition with the holistic and nutritional community. As for the FDA…there’s a reason they don’t regulate the vitamin & supplement industry. Their focus is DRUGS. Since you cannot patent plants & herbs, the medical community at large wants nothing to do with it. They are in bed with BIG PHARMA, and their bottom line depends on prescribing medications which only treat symptoms. There seem to be too many people professing to have been greatly helped by the Plexus products. Maybe that’s why they are being targeted. The company doesn’t claim to be able to help every human being. Each person’s body and health history plays a role in how they will react to not only supplements, but foods as well. The oddest claims to me are that the ProBio5 gave them diarrhea. If these people read up on what ANY healthy probiotic should accomplish, they would know that there will be a “die off” of candida in the body…which is a good thing. Depending on the health of the individuals digestive system, that process could last 3 days or 3 weeks or even longer. I suspect had they been working with a holistic practitioner for guidance, they may have understood a little better. AND perhaps they would’ve been told that maybe it wasn’t the best for them. Just because something isn’t good for everyone doesn’t mean it’s not good for anyone. People these days and their inability to think critically…’s epidemic.

  • I think what floors me the most with all the nasty comments about Plexus ambassadors is how angry people are that a company uses distributors to sell their products rather than Million Dollar Stars to promote what they’re selling on 30 second commercials. Are all of you who are so angry also angry about all the dead enzymes being sold in grocery stores and health food stores using mere “marketing science” as a means to promote the products? Do you not realize that the largest percentage of supplements in this country sold in stores are making misleading claims? The supplement industry is legally permitted to stake a claim about their ingredients so long as that ingredient is doing what it says it does at the time the cap goes on the bottle. From that second forward, there is no requirement that the supplement actually do what it claims to do. Did you also know that products can be labeled “all natural” so long as it contains 10% natural ingredients? I just hope that you are going after the thousands of other supplement manufacturers with as much ferociousness as you are making these Plexus ambassadors out to be. And by the way… is not an uncommon practice for network marketing companies to reward their distributors with incentives for selling. How is that in and of itself evil? Are you okay with a company paying Michael Jordan $3 million for 5 seconds of his face to promote a product? I mean…..seriously. Think, people!

  • Plexus ambassadors are told to post to FB 3x per day, with one post being about Plexus. It’s an algorithm that supposedly gets a certain number of people to see your posts and hence likely more customers “signing on” underneath as ambassadors themselves to sell the products, thus earning the higher-ranking ambassadors more financial benefits. Typical MLM. I was buying into all the hype and trying the products. They may have been reformulated since being banned in Australia and Canada, as I see a new Canada launch is happening. The products seem to help a lot of people, but I’m not buying into the business side of it. I’ll try it for another month and then determine if it’s for me. I do notice I get tired around 8 and wake up wide awake around 2 a.m. and can’t get back to sleep. I do have less sugar cravings and do feel better overall, but still not completely sold. Always good to do research on both sides. Personally, I’m keeping my FB page just that…personal, not a huge advertisement for Plexus!

  • I just read this article which is dated today, Jan 24th 2018, yet all of the comments are from 2014- Jan 20th 2018, all prior to the articles date… How can this be possible?? I am thinking the whole article is just a big scam!!

  • Plexus is not the only Health Company on Earth, right!! There is Jeunesse, Herbal Life, 4Life, Kayani, Nu Skin, LifeAdvantage, Melaluca . Isagenix etc..All these Health companies are well and truly helping out many families globally with their health. Maybe we should give them all some respect for helping thousands of people who have shared their testimonies about their own health company. If you are happy and satisfy with whichever Health company you are representing and loving their savings products then get down on your knees and give praise to the Almighty God. Don’t try and defame another Health Company, There are billions of people out there who have not heard of Plexus, Jeunesse, Isagenix, Herbalife, Nu Skin Amway etc Let alone many will probably die before knowing any of these companies. If you don’t like the company, leave alone and make yourself happy. Those who have shared their testimonies and story on here are very happy with Plexus. If it is not for you take the next step and move forward and do something good for yourself.

  • This comment thread is just anecdotal stories from people drinking the Kool-Aid – pun intended. Network marketing ambassadors and distributors LOVE their anecdotes. Who needs science? Also, grammar and spelling, folks. The point of the article is articulated in the first paragraph: “Ideally, for evaluating safety, it would be best to see that Plexus itself has not only undergone testing in humans, but that the testing was done in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in which both safety and efficacy were evaluated and the results were published in a peer-reviewed medical journal.” A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial is not difficult. So why hasn’t that been done? You took Plexus and now you feel better? Great. It works for you. But the claims I see ambassadors make are absurd and dangerous. And I realize that some of these claims are not “approved” content by the company. So if you think for one second you “own your own business,” re-evaluate that statement. Like most network marketing companies, Plexus controls what you know and share as an ambassador. Whether these products “work” or not is NOT the issue. The issue is that many ambassadors are peddling these “plant-based” products that “heal the gut,” “reduce blood sugar,” and “increase energy naturally” when there is a possibility these products are harming people. But as an ambassador, you would not know. Because Plexus controls what information you take in and put out. I’ve heard all the rebuttals. I’ve been told to “Google” what X ingredient does for your gut health. That’s all fine. I can do that. And my probiotic supplement is 1/4 of the cost of yours, and it ALSO has “5 beneficial probiotics” and is recommended by an MD. But until Plexus products are backed by actual randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials, there’s no way anyone is convincing me to fork out $130/month. Enjoy your Lexus and your free trips while you can. Like nearly every MLM company in the history of MLM companies and considering the percentage of ambassadors/distributors who stick with an MLM company more than a few years AND FINALLY, considering the laws that are in process to stop companies like Plexus from taking advantage of people, it won’t last long.

  • Of COURSE you are going to feel better and lose weight, have more energy when you drop some poor choice foods out of your diet and eat less! Long term (meaning over a year) use, isn’t really known. You FEEL good (I’m sure the green tea caffeine has nothing to do with that), so you move more, bound to burn more calories. I don’t consume refined sugar and starches, I don’t use artificial sweeteners, I don’t eat fried foods, and I thoughtfully use supplements…..and I feel good, have more energy, been losing weight. I KNOW what I’m doing is healthy!

  • All I want to know is why everyone who sells and drinks the “pink drink” on my Facebook page seems to have had visible changes to the way they look. They seriously look like they have been sucked dry their faces look like meth addicts. They looked normal and healthy before they started drinking this. This alone makes me think something is seriously wrong with plexus.

  • Plexus Slim is definitely did human trials before it was marketed. It was originally designed to target prediabetics and type I diabetic glucose levels. It was not only successful in lowering glucose levels- the subjects lost at least 3 pounds over the trial period. And Plexus Slim is patented.

  • My wife has been taking this (pink) joke for a 2 month period and complained of pink urine and vomiting when her kidneys fail and she dies from it plexus will pay the piper,it’s sad that the maggots are allowed to brainwash there victims! Kind of like Manson or Jim Jones.

  • I’ve been taking Slim for two weeks, and have been progressively feeling worse and worse every day. Feeling very tired, huge headaches by the end of the day, dehydrated, and overall not well at all. I had my thyroid removed in 2016 and rely on Synthroid to keep me alive. Turns out there are two main ingredients in Slim– a massive amount of Chromium, and Alpha Lipoic Acid. Chromium is clinically proven to hinder the absorption of Synthroid and Alpha Lipoic Acid is clinically proven to disrupt the conversion of T4 into T3. So essentially I’ve been cancelling out my Synthroid every day for two weeks. My ‘ambassador’ friend, who I’ve known since high school, kept saying it was just my body going through detox. Yeah, no, that’s my body slowly dying because it’s being starved of thyroid hormone!! Even after telling her about the interaction, she said it might be ok if I just take it later in the day, or maybe just take 1/4 packet. Uh, NO!! That’s crossing the line

  • I have been taking the slim pink for 3 weeks, ive lost 16 pounds which is great!! On a serious note its been almost a week now that i wake up and every morning im spitting up blood! Went to the hospital, did chest xray, blood work etc.. Even got tested for tuberculosis!! I went through a battery of test and they found nothing!! They think im nuts ?. I STILL SPIT BLOOD EVERY MORNING!… So now im going to stop drinking pink slim and see what happens, not sure about this product 100%… I know its done wonders for a good friend of mine in 2 years but im terrified people!

Diagnosed last June after almost a year of many, many specialists telling me they had no idea what was wrong. My symptoms were all non-motor, insomnia, leg pain that will not go away, and anxiety issues. Had a DAT scan and that was the test that verified PD.

Started on Requip, had such bad fatigue that I had to quit that and then started on Sinemet, no changes too. My son purchased PD herbal remedy online from Best Health Herbal Centre. My son said (Best Health Herbal Centre) to him that the herbal remedy will reverse my PD under 6 weeks. So after using the PD herbal remedy for 6 weeks, my PD was totally reversed. No more major fatigue, insomnia is better, leg pain disappeared. I can walk 4 miles now without feeling pain.

I am 64, was diagnosed at 63. I thought i will die with brain fog and fatigue, but Best Health Herbal Centre saved my life.

  • Well – if there are not HUMAN’s it has been tested on, then let me be the HUMAN who tells you what it has done for me and I am ONLY in Week 4! I have not craved sugar in 2 weeks, where as everyday I felt I needed it. Bloating was significantly reduced at Week 2 and I have pictures to prove it. My MOOD – so much better and I have not had to take my extra anxiety meds in a week, the one for “emergencies” that I would have to take at least 4x/week. I no longer hit the after lunch slump and I am not drinking anything more than one glass of unsweet tea/day compared to the 3-4 I was having. SO – let me be your HUMAN EXPERIMENT because so far, these supplements are changing everything about my life!

If you don’t like them – you have 60 days to return them. Plain and simple – ask someone you know about their journey and decide for yourself. Nothing on the market is FDA approved in regards to supplements – INCLUDING baby formula, yet how many people feed their infants that daily!?

    I rest my case.

  • My husband, 39, has been on a refined version of the paleo diet for about 6 months. He’s lost 25 pounds. In addition, he has stopped snoring, no longer requires allergy meds for hay-fever, no more mucus first thing in the morning, little to no gas, has no more lower back pain, sleeps better, has less anxiety, more energy, and would also say he has “his life back.” These are all natural results of lowering inflammation in the body. Period. Sugar causes inflammation. For many, dairy causes inflammation. So many of the positive side effects listed from this product would likely have also been gained through a healthy diet.

  • Final breakthrough for all suffering from Parkinson’s disease…My father is 73 and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s about 2 years ago. He deals with a lot of anxiety, so much so that he doesn’t want to go out, doesn’t want to be with people. My brother has to beg him to be with family. I feel that natural supplements are so important, but he depends only on the drug levodopa, his meds for the a-fib, and anti depression medicine. Last three months my brother working in India purchased PD herbal remedy from Best Health Herbal Centre. My father only used the PD herbal remedy for 6 weeks without levodopa and all his symptoms was completely reversed. My father is now happily living Parkinson’s diseases free now ….I recommend this Parkinson’s herbal remedy for all Parkinson’s Patients.

  • One day this product will either be banned or go out of business. Then you will have a lot of Plexus believers wondering what to do now when really they didn’t need Plexus to begin with to become healthy. All one really needs to do is eat whole organic foods/living foods and stay away from processed. I’m not against eating meat BUT look at what’s being fed to animals and injected into them and added to their meat during processing! It’s not healthy! Try juicing organic fruits and veggies for a week and just see what happens. When I thought nothing would help me, I water fasted then juiced only for almost a month. Results were amazing to say the least. America doesn’t need Plexus as a cure all. They just need a little self control. I’m happy for those who take it and find relief but sad that they are depending on something that won’t be around forever.

  • I took Plexus supplements at the beginning of this year for five months and felt great. The sixth month, I got really, really sick. At first, my doctor thought I had food poisoning and treated me accordingly, but symptoms returned and were intermittent. After talking with a friend of mine online, I learned that my symptoms matched d-lactic acidosis. When I stopped taking all the supplements, I got well again. The part that makes me really sad is that when I reached out to the friend and also to Plexus for information, no one responded. My friend said she would get back to me but never did. They only care about the positive testimonials and the $$$$.

  • What if I am under 18? Will it cause me any harm to use the product, or will it just speed up the process tremendously since I am so much younger? I am currently 15 and I have a dance coming up soon so I need to know how much weight I can lose between now and then.

    • Hi Gracie, we strongly suggest that you and your parents (or guardian) discuss with your doctor the healthiest ways to reach your personal goals before trying any products like Plexus. Thank you for reading!

  • I am not a Plexus “ambassador” but my wife bought in and can’t stop buying it because a friend that she got started on it is going gangbusters with it; my wife won’t get the benefits if she stops buying. As such, she has a lot of extra, and suggested that I use it.
I’ve been somewhat inconsistently using the Slim, Bio Cleanse, ProBio 5, and XFactor Plus. I can’t say with any certainty that it has done anything for me; too many variables to consider. I haven’t weighed myself since I started either. What I can say is that I inexplicably started exercising early in the morning (after 3 years of sedentary living), my manic depression has improved, and I’ve been able to stop buying boxes of Hostess Cupcakes. Was it Plexus, or something else? My mental illness has certainly improved no doubt, in part, due to the exercise. No ulterior motive in these statements, just the facts as I see them. I’m not selling anything, and couldn’t care less if you buy Plexus supplements or not.
My wife’s friend has apparently studied the benefits of Plexus (she’s known to be very studious) and swears that it is very good for you. All of this is anecdotal evidence at best, and nothing that anyone should base a decision on (especially with no names or references).
I just got off a live chat with a Plexus rep. She didn’t know if any studies or trials have been done, but referred me to their FAQ, which states “The clinical study on Slim was done in a multi-center, double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized trial by an Independent Contract Research Organization and performed in accordance with the International Conference Harmonization Guidelines on Good Clinical Practice. All of our Clinical Study overviews and details are available in the Ambassador Virtual Office, under Sharing Plexus > Products. (Customers can check with their Sponsors.) We do not release the full-length clinical studies as a necessary step to protect our brand, due to proprietary information.” (obviously copied directly from their web site) I tried to get into the Ambassador Virtual Office, but that requires an account, which I don’t have. Can any ambassadors please provide us with the “Clinical Study overviews and details”? Until you do, all that any of us have is unsubstantiated claims by both proponents and detractors.
I must respond to “sincitylife” who stated, “The only proven way to lose weight is by a caloric deficit via eating less or exercising more.” While I don’t wish to offend, I hope you’ll consider the following: When we expel waste, or sweat, or vomit, we lose “weight”. When we lose muscle mass due to atrophy, we lose weight. Takers of fen-phen clearly lost weight (and their health). On the extreme end of the spectrum, we can lose weight by cutting off an appendage. There are clearly other ways to lose weight.
I felt compelled to post a moderate, level-headed comment due to the extremism in many of the other submissions. I have tried Plexus, as the proponents have suggested, and no benefits are verifiable and/or apparent. I sought the clinical trials, as the detractors have suggested, and I came up short due to Plexus restrictions.
I’m not a bio-chemist, nutritionist, homeopathic healer, MD, PA, RN or any other such related acronym. I’m not an ardent ambassador or enthusiastic evangelist of Plexus products. I didn’t have arthritis, fibromyalgia, or Parkinson’s disease before starting, just genetic manic depression and a sedentary lifestyle. What I am is just a guy in his mid 40’s who’s been taking Plexus pills and drinks in the hope that they’ll help me in some way, because they’re freely available to me. Nobody can say with any certainty that my sugar intake, activity level, or mental health has improved because of it. If a boisterous belief that Plexus cured all my ills helps you sleep better at night, then so be it. For all I know, maybe it did.
I hope that my message is clear. We should never buy anything based on passionate testimonials, especially if given by the seller. I’ve never found anything that is good for everyone, even air and water (some people are extremely allergic!). What works for you may not work for me. Use some logic and some common sense when reading claims or comments on the Internet. If your friends or family personally have good experiences with something, feel free to try it. Just start with the lowest amount in case your unique physiology doesn’t like it. If you have the desire, research the product to your hearts content. I personally don’t have the time for that, with such complex topics as biochemistry. In short, use your head, live long and prosper.

  • The person that signed me up with Plexus told me that Plexus works if you drink a ton of water and back off sugar completely. Won’t a lot of ailments go away if we eliminate sugar and consume a lot of water?!?
We need to think these things through for ourselves and not be consumed with all the reviews.
In addition, every diet plan says that it will work with good diet and exercise. If we had those things then we would not need the supplement.

  • My brother suggested I may like this blog. He used to be totally right.

This submit truly made my day. You cann’t believe simply how
a lot time I had spent for this info! Thank you!

  • whoah this weblog is magnificent i really like reading your articles.
Stay up the good work! You already know, many people are looking around for this info, you
    could help them greatly.

  • I can find ZERO published studies on efficacy or safety of Plexus products on PubMed, or Galileo or Google Scholar. The long, rambling testimonials of the incredible long list of ailments that Plexus cures sure does smack of multi-level marking (MLM) ambassador sales hype. Show me _evidence_ as in peer reviewed studies. If it is SO fantastic, why no examination of it?? Anecdotes, and second-hand stories about “my sister”, “my cousin”, my whatever do not hack it. Just LOOK at all of the hot air in the testimonials, above! Placebo effect at best.

  • Usually I don’t learn post on blogs, but I wish to say that
this write-up very compelled me to check out and do
it! Your writing taste has been surprised me. Thanks, quite nice article.

  • You actually make it appear really easy along with your presentation however I in finding this matter to be actually something that I believe
I would by no means understand. It sort of feels too complicated and extremely
vast for me. I’m taking a look ahead for your subsequent publish, I’ll attempt to get the hold of it!

  • Hi terrific website! Does running a blog such as this require a large
amount of work? I have no knowledge of computer programming however I was hoping to start my own blog in the near future.

Anyhow, should you have any recommendations or techniques for new blog owners please share.
I know this is off subject but I just needed to ask. Thanks!

  • It is actually a great and useful piece of information. I’m satisfied that
you shared this useful info with us. Please stay us informed like this.
    Thank you for sharing.

  • I have taken this on and off and now have stopped due to an illness. I guess I would really like to know the danger of using this with other meds. I am on several heart meds, thyroid med and depression meds. Now I have cancer. For years I have tried to lose weight but have not been able to. I know some of the medications I am on cause weight gain. Could someone please reply or let me know where to go to for some answers. I have not contacted my physician yet.

  • Thanks for another informative website. The place else may just I am getting that type
of information written in such a perfect way? I’ve a venture that
I am just now running on, and I’ve been on the glance
    out for such information.

  • My friend that I have known for 3 decades convinced me to try plexus slim. After 3 days I noticed my eyes were bothering me. I didnt know why. It never even crossed my mind that it could be plexus. On the 5th day it was bad. My eyes were so sensitive to light. It was an overcast day and I could not keep my eyes open as normal. Then I remembered how my friend has really sensitive eyes to light. She wears sunglasses to our workout class that we took together and in restaurants. I dont know why it causes light sensitivity but I’m pretty sure it was Plexus. I stopped taking after the 5th day and my body felt like it was detoxing/like hung over. It was weird. I felt normal again after about 4 days. She claims her eyes have always been sensitive. We have been friends for about 30 years. They were never that sensitive before. She has been taking plexus for 1 year. I’m worried about her and all who she brings into it.

  • Dear Madame
I am not sure where you get your information from regarding clinical trials on Plexus. I count numerous, too many to add here from Mayo Clinic, NIH etc…They may be two of the highest regarded research sites in the US perhaps even the world. Just did my own research on your allegations.

  • 4/8/19 I have been taking Plexus products for a month now. Plexis Slim drink -bio cleanse- xfactor plus-proBio 5- mega x and I HAVE NO RESULTS!! I am truly disappointed. Over 3 weeks of taking this product (10pills a day) no weight loss, No pain relief w/chronic back pain& arthrtis -I have severe PTSD and depression these products have not helped me in any way. My friend who sells these products swears by them and I believe they do work for her but they have done nothing for me at all… 200$ a month for these products and I’m told to hang in there they will work! I’m a 46 yr old single mom of 3 very low income on SSI disability. Desperately trying to find something that will help me have some quality of life again. I really hoped this product would help BUT IT HASN’T! In 3 days it will be 1 month I’ve been taking these products ud think there would be some sort of change. I could never sell this product because I honestly cannot recommend it. Congratulations to all of you that plexus has worked for. Sadly I’m not one of them. It says 60 day guarantee I’m mailing these bottles back to my friend who recommended the product. She believes in it so much she ordered the 200$ on her card for me. 1 thing I didn’t like was the statement I was asked to put on my fbk page before I had tried the product yet. I don’t like feeling pressured and honestly that’s the only reason I tried this was because she was very persistent. Nope I’m not a plexus fan. Truly disappointed. If u can’t see some kind of results in 3weeks it doesn’t seem like a good product. Ive also ran out of some of the pills because I was told to take 4 of a couple different ones to help with sugar cravings and appetite control. That didn’t work either.

  • Hmm, inject one’s body with mystery chemicals while supporting a pseudo-science pyramid scheme cult (the devotion to this product is outright creepy), or eat better and exercise… Americans are strange.

  • This content is NOT true. We do have testing on our products and we do have randomized, double blind, placebo controlled studies and the findings can easily be found on our website.

  • DO NOT take plexus! I tried it a couple years ago to lose the extra 20 pounds…..huge mistake! I ended up having severe stomach pain after a couple days of using Plexus, I was told I was “detoxing”. I ended up needing a scope done. The physical told me Plexus messed up my normal digestive process and it would take months to restore itself. When I called to cancel my auto ship I was on hold for over an hour trying to cancel! They sure make it easy to sign up and extremely difficult to cancel! Also, I had another friend go to the ER with similar symptoms and another friend who had bloody diarrhea from it. Stay away from Plexus and save yourself the trouble I went through!!!! Drink more water, decrease sugar intake, and exercise a few times a week! (Also, never received a penny back from their money back guarantee)!
Unfriending all of the Facebook friends who aren’t honest and delete my comments of what I went through also helps!

  • If it can cure every possible malady then why isn’t it universally used? I don’t understand why people can’t see the sales pitch. If you really can cure everything why do you make people pay so much for it?

  • Wow, this article is a complete scam. Most of the “facts” listed are completely untrue and the “reviews” are people who sounded like they were misusing the products and obviously were not educated on gut health and the possibility of herx reactions while healing your gut. Plexus is NOT banned by the countries listed. They are open in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and now Mexico. Plexus products have been LIFE SAVING for me. My advice is to do your own research and make an informed decision for yourself! Don’t take her word for it, don’t even take MY word for it. Be an adult and read something other than someone’s opinion who hasn’t even tried the products and make an informed decision for yourself. Everyone who knows plexus knows that most people should start slow and build up the products one at a time to avoid a herx. It’s also common knowledge in gut health medical practice NOT associated with Plexus. Look it up!

  • I wonder if many of the positive reviews are ambassadors that coordinated to “blast” the page, as it were; with positive reviews. Just a speculation.

  • Warning!!!!! Plexus has ALA (alpha Lipoic acid) in it ! It is in the “blend” of ingredients. This is very dangerous!! ALA is a chelator of heavy metals (most of us have amalgam fillings. ALA has a half life of 3 hours.
I drank the pink drink every day for over a year…essentially stirring up and pulling the mercury from my teeth from the ALA in my saliva. I had all sorts of bad side effects when I quit and the heavy metal began to redistribute. Terrible headache, brain fog, tinnitus in ears, terrible insomnia… I was so sick.
Google “alpha Lipoic acid as a chelator”. Google Andy Cutler
He wrote the book Amalgam Illness over 20 years ago. You “CAN NOT” take alpha Lipoic acid with amalgam fillings still in …(don’t EVER remove amalgam fillings unless it’s done safely by a SMRT IAOMT Dentist by the way).
Many are getting sick and don’t understand why. I felt great when I was taking Plexus but when I quit Sh**
    Hit the fan!
I found the Andy Cutler Chelation: Safe Mercury and Heavy Metal Detox Facebook group and they have helped me tremendously. I found other former Plexus users that got sick also.
Come find us if you need help! There is hope!
