Organic Diet Reduces Toxin Levels

Eating an organic diet, compared to a diet that includes conventionally grown fruits and vegetables, can significantly lower levels of pesticides in the body, according to researchers. After six days of eating a conventional diet, followed by six days of eating organic, urine tests from four families from different backgrounds and geographical locations, showed substantial drops in bodily pesticide levels, including a 95 percent drop in the toxin, malathion, which is linked to brain damage in children. Pesticides have been associated with many health issues, including cancer, hormonal imbalance, and neurological disorders.
