To use the NIH calculator, you input your weight, gender, age, height, and physical activity level. Then, you input your goal weight, and the date by which you’d like to reach it. And, you indicate how much you’re willing to increase your activity level. The weight loss calculator tells you how many calories you need to trim to reach your goal weight within your ideal time frame.

Any weight loss calculator can help you trim down if you carefully follow the daily calorie recommendations. Using a calorie counter along with it can help you keep track of the number of calories you eat, and burn, each day.
